HOTEL RATES STRIPPED - Posted: 24 May, 2008

I just spoke with the Travel Agent - her name is Carolina Almanzar Barias, she works at Agencia de Viajes Felix in my home town - email is carolina_014@hotmail.com

I have hotel rates for everyone to review and accept or not. The hotel has used pesos rates, which could be a good thing if the dollar keeps creeping up like it has been in the last few weeks.

See the EXTRAS where I added a currency exchange link for you to see the most uptodate exchange rates between pesos and dollars.

Que Vestir/What to Wear - Posted: 15 Mar, 2008

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please be aware that the Ceremony will take place near the beach in a tropical place and in the summer. It is near sunset and the temperature might start lowering to a comfortable one.
When thinking what to wear, keep in mind that is hard to walk on the sand with high heels and that a pashmina (for the ladies) might come in handy if the breeze is cool.
NOTE: NO BATHING SUITS/NO DIVING SUITS/NO SHORTS/NO SARONGS....even though we'll be at a resort, the wedding is the Wedding :) (Yeah, yeah, I'm getting a little picky, but it's the nerves and excitement!)
If any of you have individual questions about this, email me, call me or post them on the guestbook.
How to Get There? - Posted: 06 Mar, 2008
The main US airports that travel to Dominican Republic are (direct flight):
John F. Kennedy (JFK in NYC), Newark International (EWK), Miami International (MIA)
Pittsburg (PIT), Philadelphia (PHL)and Cleveland (CLE) get there after 1 stop or more.
Dominican airports of our interest in the North Coast are: Puerto Plata (POP), which is about 90 mins from Cabrera and Santiago (STI) that would be about 2 hours away.
Santo Domingo is the capital city and is located Southeast, about 3 hours away. It's airport (SDQ) would be about 3.5 hours and too much of a hassle, but could be slightly less pricy).
We are working on researching the best airlines deals and local transportation.
